SERVES 4
1 pint (2 cups) yogurt
1/4 cup finely chopped fresh nana mint (na'na)
OR 1 tablespoon dried mint
1 lb small cucumbers, quartered and thinly sliced
1 clove of Garlic
In a salad bowl, crush the clove of garlic with the salt by pounding it with a meat pounder (tenderizer), or use a mortar and pestle.
Add the yogurt into the bowl and mix with the garlic and salt.
Add the fresh nana mint and stir. Let it settle for 20 minutes in order for the mint and garlic to permeate the yogurt.
Add the sliced cucumber.
Add salt to taste if necessary.
If desired, garnish with a few drops of extra virgin olive oil and three or four fresh mint leaves.
Enjoy it as a stand alone treat, served as a dip for kibbeh, or as part of a mezze.
